BOTOX® was FDA approved for cosmetic use in 2002. This is by far the most requested cosmetic procedure treatment nationwide, helping millions of patients fight wrinkles and rejuvenate their appearance. Botox is a simple non-surgical, treatment that temporarily smooths the appearance of moderate to severe lines administered by one of our Board-Certified Dermatologists.
Botox is indicated in adult patients for the temporary improvement in the appearance of:
Botox cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe wrinkles and lines. Botox blocks the signal between the muscle and the brain, preventing contraction in a localized area. When the muscles relax, the specific moderate to severe wrinkles smooth out and soften.
The appearance of your lines and wrinkles will continue to improve over the first two weeks. You may see improvement in the lines for up to one month.
Botox is a natural, purified protein prescription medication that is administered in very low doses. The effects of Botox are usually only confined to the injected region. It does not travel throughout the body. It is FDA-Approved and over 20 years of clinical use has proven it safe.
The appearance of your lines and wrinkles will continue to improve over the first two weeks. Results of Botox cosmetic treatments can last three to four months. Individual results may vary depending on how expressive you are and how strong your facial muscles are.
Botox is used most often for lines around the eyes and forehead, and sometimes for lines around the lips, as well. Only the muscles that are injected are affected leaving normal facial expressions easily able to be expressed.
If you decide not to continue with treatments, your facial lines and wrinkles will return to their original appearance.
