Microneedling is a way to achieve “skin rejuvenation, tightening and scar remodeling” according to the International Journal of Dermatology. It is often referred to as collagen induction therapy and is increasingly the choice of treatment for skin rejuvenation. Microneedling creates thousands of invisible micro channels to the top layer of the skin which trigger the body’s natural wound healing process. This repair process stimulates the formation of collagen and elastin which are the two predominant proteins responsible for maintaining the structure of healthy skin. Microneedling is minimally invasive, virtually painless and has very minimal downtime.
Skin Pen: The only LEGALLY marketed microneedling device in the U.S.
Validated Cartridge: Validated sterile cartridge with precise depth, straight needles support the skin’s natural healing process, where others may damage the skin.
Advanced Medical Grade: The only advanced, medical grade microneedling product on U.S. market with precise and safe needle depth adjustment.
Laboratory Tested: Laboratory tested, proprietary technology to prevent cross-contamination.
A plan for optimal results. Your esthetician may recommend a course of procedures based on your individual goals. Maintenance of your procedure might require multiple treatments.
A comfortable procedure. Based on your needs, your esthetician will apply a topical numbing agent to the treatment area. A short procedure-time. The treatment will likely take 30 minutes to one hour.
A mild sensation. Most patients report feeling only the slight vibration of SkinPen during the procedure.
Minimal post-procedure effects. The skin will appear slightly pink to red immediately post-procedure, similar to a mild to moderate sunburn. Additionally, the most common treatment responses experienced were dryness, rough skin, tightness, redness, itching, peeling, discomfort, tenderness, and burning. These conditions resolved within a few days without any further complications.
An effective procedure protocol. Your esthetician will recommend an aftercare regimen.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) has been described as a “Biologically perfect beauty serum.” PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is abundant in growth factors which are important for new cell generation and cellular functions. When PRP is incorporated with microneedling treatment, the PRP (platelet rich plasma) makes the treatment customized for each specific patient because the platelets are drawn from each individual patient’s body.
Since the platelets are taken directly from each patient, the body immediately accepts them as a beneficial healing agent when they are topically applied. PRP becomes even more powerful when combined with microneedling, since the tiny pinholes create a pathway for the growth factors to penetrate even deeper into the skin. The platelet or growth factors in turn will begin the process of creating new collagen and elastin fibers. The profound benefit of microneedling with PRP will benefit the overall health and rejuvenation of your skin.
1) It Improves the Skin!
Microneedling has been shown to improve the damage caused by many different types of skin imperfections including acne scars, sun spots, melasma, stretch marks, and wrinkles.
2) Non-invasive
Compared to other aesthetics options, microneedling with PRP is non-invasive and does not use surgery, injections, or harsh lasers to achieve your desired benefits.
3) Short Recovery with Minimal Downtime
Stay out of the sun and do not wear makeup for 24 hours. Patients describe their skin as feeling tight and slightly warm after the treatment. Within 24-48 redness and tightness usually subsides.
4) Your Body Heals Itself
As described in the paragraphs above, microneedling with PRP jump-starts the body’s healing response. It’s this reaction that causes new collagen to form which improves damage from skin imperfections such as acne scars, wrinkles, and sun spots.
5) Comfortable and With Minimal Pain
A mild topical numbing agent is used in the treatment areas. Since microneedling only penetrates the top layer of skin, there are very few sensory nerves to trigger pain. It’s overall a very comfortable experience.
6) Long Lasting
Since Microneedling with PRP delivers long lasting benefits. When working on imperfections such as scars or sunspots, the results are permanent unless new scars are formed or the patient continues to be exposed to the sun without protection.
