Dermaplaning is an exfoliation technique using a sterile surgical scalpel to gently remove dead skin cells and fine facial hair from the skin's surface.
What is it?
Dermaplane gently exfoliates your skin and removes peach-fuzz, leaving you with skin so soft you won't be able to stop touching it. Experience smooth, clear, wonderful skin - no matter your sensitivity. Dermaplaning primarily addresses common skin concerns such as dullness, uneven texture and fine facial hair, often referred to as peach fuzz. Additionally, it can help improve the appearance of mild acne scarring, fine lines and superficial hyperpigmentation by promoting cellular turnover and enhancing the penetration of skincare products.
Dermaplaning is appropriate for the majority of skin type, however it is not suitable for active acne, inflammatory skin conditions or those with excessive facial hair growth.
Spa 43 patients choose dermaplaning because it's painless, has zero downtime and offers instant results.
What to expect
As we begin treatment, you may feel a scratiching and scraping sensation on the skin. This sensation is a normal reaction and isn’t painful. We use a gentle, sterile surgical scalpel to remove the skin cells and unwanted hair. The small blade moves back and forth across your skin, removing the top layers.
Depending on the area being treated, the treatment can take 15 minutes to an hour. Once complete, we’ll apply a soothing gel or ointment to the treated areas.
If you’re ready to reveal a refreshed, luminous complexion, call us today to schedule an appointment in one of our offices in Clinton and Shelby Township, Michigan.
A typical appointment lasts 15 minutes.
There is little to no discomfort with this procedure, although you may experience slight facial redness similar to a mild sunburn for about an hour after treatment.
When performed by our qualified medical professionals, the procedure is very safe, non-invasive, and the outcomes are highly predictable.
During a dermaplane treatment, the hand-held tool uses a sharp blade, safely positioned, to gently scrape away the top layer of dead skin cells.
Your skin will have an immediate, radiant glow and smoother feel, but multiple treatments will be required for optimal results.
To maintain results, most patients repeat Dermaplane every 4 to 6 weeks.
Some patients may experience redness or irritation immediately after treatment, but this will shortly subside. Even those with very sensitive skin can receive this treatment with no downtime.
No. This is the #1 misconception. Dermaplane removes the hair on the surface of the skin and does not touch or change where the hair originates from in the follicle. Because of this, there is no change in the texture or thickness of the hair as it grows back.
A dermaplane costs $130 and we offer package pricing to boost your results and provide valuable savings.
Absolutely. Dermaplanes are a great way to keep your skin looking and feeling fresh during any stage of pregnancy!
Most likely, yes! The majority of people are good candidates for this non-invasive treatment. Patients with moderate to severe active acne may be more appropriate for other treatments or may use dermaplaning in conjunction with other procedures as part of a more comprehensive care plan.
