Before receiving your Botox injection, your face will be cleaned with an antiseptic to remove any bacteria. So, we recommend arriving with a clean face. If you do come wearing makeup, it will be taken off.
Caffeine is unlikely to interfere with your Botox treatment outcomes. However, if caffeine increases your jitters or anxiety, it’s recommended to hold off until after.
For one week before receiving Botox, it’s not recommended that you take medications that can thin the blood. These include Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Mortrin, or Exedrin. Avoiding these can help minimize the potential for post-Botox bruising. If you’d like to take pain medication before your appointment, Tylenol is fine.
It’s best to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after BOTOX injections. Increased blood flow and sweating may cause the BOTOX to spread to unintended areas, which can affect results. Light activity, like walking, is usually fine, but hold off on intense workouts, hot yoga, or heavy lifting until the next day. Always follow your provider’s specific instructions to ensure optimal results.
